Mehul Vyas, an International Student studying Masters of Business Administration and Global Project Management at Torrens University talks about his experience with studying online.

Mehul was born and raised in India and after completing his schooling and gaining experience in business development and marketing he decided to pursue his masters in Australia.

After researching his options he decided to study at Torrens University where there are more than 11000 International Students from over 118 countries all over the world.

“Torrens University welcomes people from different corners of the world and celebrates their festivals, which is really positive. Additionally, I discovered that Torrens offers students the opportunity to gain real work experience as a part of their degrees, and all the professors have great industry experience. The campuses are all centrally located and well equipped with state of the art facilities, so it was an easy decision when it was time to enroll” he said.

Mehul had intended to study on Campus but due to the trajectory COVID-19 due to safety measures of all the staff and students all the courses of Torrens University have shifted to online courses.

Based on his experience, Mehul was able to give us an insight into how online learning was adopted by his University. The professors, lecture slides, study material, and his fellow classmates were all the same. And by studying online he had better access to his coursework from anywhere at any time on any device.

“Studying online is the same as studying in a classroom”

While the experience of studying at home was interesting, here are few thoughts Mehul would like to share about his online learning experience, “Blackboard is convenient and is actually the best platform I have ever used for the study. It is fully functional, with all the detailed information regarding your course, subjects, announcements, messages, and lecture notes. For me, the only difference between studying online and studying on campus is that you are not physically connected with people while studying online; but the quality of learning has been excellent.”

Studying online has been a good experience and has enhanced the learning experience in new ways.
