| 3. What are the key things that I should take note of when applying to a school ? |
The school should provide clear and accurate information on the course, the entry requirements, the conduct of the course, fees and other charges as well as terms and conditions relating to areas such as course cancellation and refund policies. The school should also specify the services that it will provide to international students.
For Private Education Organizations (PEOs), all terms and conditions relating to your enrolment into the course should be reflected in a Standard Contract that the PEO will sign with you.
The Standard Contract is available in English, Chinese, Bahasa Indonesia, and Vietnamese. Please note that students are required to sign on the English version ONLY, and the translated versions are simply used as a reference. The translated versions of the Standard Contract can be found in the CASE website. Please click here for the list of typical questions you should take into consideration when applying to a school |

| 4. For private schools or PEOs, how would I know whether the PEO that I am applying to is reputable and credible ? |
You are encouraged to apply to PEOs that have in place the Student Protection Scheme (SPS) (wef 1 December 2004 ). In addition, if you apply to PEOs that also have the Singapore Quality Class for Private Education Organisations (SQC for PEOs), this means that you will enjoy faster visa processing, and a waiver of the security deposit.
(CaseTrust for Education is a new scheme that was launched in September 2004 to protect the interests of foreign students studying in Singapore PEOs. Registration of PEOs has commenced and will be completed by September 2005. A progressive listing will be available from December 2004.)
